D700 with 12-24 G ED lens. f4 @ 1/40, ISO 800.

Captured on the 22nd of September 2009 at a wedding in Newbridge. The groom sits on his honkers to chat with a young friend.

Metering for the bright light makes this picture so effective, just as fully extending the limit of the 12-24mm lens used.

I sepia toned the image to create a mood. The stance of the young lady portrays a certain shyness, a trait some of us never loose.

From the archives: a photo a week...... by Conor Kinchella Stewart Photography

Lunch at the IMMA Dublin for a couple, taken on 19th May 2007. Captured with a Zeiss Ikon Nettar 517/16, 120 camera @ f4.5, 1/25 and metered with a Sekonic L608 meter. Film used was Fujifilm Velvia.

Sometimes you are around town with a new (old) camera which you know little about, yet you are dying to try it out and presto......a situation arises where you can use your skills to capture a uniquely singular scene. My thanks to the couple for being such great subjects, nicely juxtapositioned between the magical light in the background and their table rested papers in the foreground. This photograph to me is timeless.
